Recently it was announced that Ohio EPA Director, Anne Vogel has been appointed as EPA Region 5 Administrator. As regional administrator, Vogel will oversee EPA’s work across the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin and 37 Tribal nations. She will also manage EPA’s Great Lakes National Program.

Governor DeWine has nominated John Logue who has served in multiple leadership capacities at the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC). Logue’s nomination is awaiting confirmation by the Ohio Senate.

Now is the time to submit your abstract for our upcoming One Water On Demand, to be available October 22 - November 5. This event offers attendees the ultimate opportunity to make professional development work on their schedule. Attendees can log on ANYTIME from October 22 - November 5 to earn up to nine contact/professional development hours. Chosen presenters will record their presentations either with One Water staff or on their own.

This is a great opportunity to be part of One Water and abstracts are being accepted until Friday, May 30.

Draft Preliminary Modeling Results (PMR) report is available for Multi-watershed Recreation/Pathogen TMDL. Ohio EPA has taken a step in developing a new strategy for managing pathogens that impair the recreational use of Ohio waterways. This TMDL project sought to identify effective reduction strategies for multiple watersheds statewide by identifying common contamination sources and better ways to manage them. The draft is available for comment until June 9, 2025.

One Water registration is open and waiting for YOU! Registration and hotel reservations are now available for the 2025 One Water Technical Conference and Expo in Cleveland. The conference will be held at the Huntington Convention Center and we have discounted rates at two hotels, the Cleveland Marriott Downtwon at Key Tower and the Westin Cleveland Downtown. Hotel rooms are subject to availability and that regularly changes.
