Ohio EPA's Division of Surface Water has a funding opportunity to further total phosphorus treatment optimization in the Lake Erie Basin.
OEPA is seeking POTWs with a design flow of >0.5 MGD that seek to reduce their total phosphorus discharge but have found funding to be an obstacle. DSW has funding available to support several assessments and is issuing the Request for Proposals to select appropriate candidates.
An initial round of funding will support an evaluation of phosphorus optimization alternatives for approximately 10 facilities. Selected applicants will evaluate potential treatment possibilities and, if appropriate, recommend implementation of a preferred alternative. A second round of funding will be available to support a few projects that were recommended for full-scale implementation.
Applications are due Sept. 16, 2024 and should be submitted to DSW via email to David Brumbaugh at david.brumbaugh@epa.ohio.gov. The posted RFP includes details on information to include in the application. Please to contact DSW with any questions you may have.
