Presenting at a large conference like One Water is a great way to build your resume and tell your story. We are now accepting abstracts for the 2024 One Water Conference, slated for August 5 – 8 at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. It’s webinar time! OWEA will once again offer our monthly online webinars as packages. The one hour webinars will be the second Wednesday of each month with alternating times of 10 am and 3 pm. There are two options to choose from, six month and twelve month. This package pricing will save you money and allow you to just register and pay one invoice.

Are you a certified lab analyst? If so, you should have received an email letting you know it’s time to renew your voluntary certification. If you didn’t receive an email, please check your spam or junk folders and make sure that OWEA has your most up-to-date information. If we don’t have a correct email, we can’t contact you. Renewals are good until 2025 and are due by January 31, 2024. Late renewals will incur a significant late fee.

What are you thankful for? During this season of reflection, we want to let you know we appreciate YOU! We are grateful for our volunteers, members, and sponsors. Our volunteers allow us to offer education to all our members regardless of location. Our more than 2,100 members help us to fulfill our mission statement of being the leading water resource organization for preserving and enhancing Ohio’s water environment. Our sponsors make all our endeavors and our association possible.  We couldn’t do everything we do without each of you. You are the heart of our association, and we look forward to a great 2024 with you!

If you are a Certified Wastewater Operator, you should take a moment and check your E-Biz account to make sure that all your hours are correctly reflected in your account. Now is the time to do this verses right before you renew your license. At times your account may not show the hours you think it should, this could be due to an incorrect or no Operator ID being entered during registration or many other reasons. Don’t wait until the last minute to make sure you have the hours you need!
 

The OWEA office will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday. All emails and messages will be returned on Monday, November 27. Thank you for your patience and have a safe and happy holiday.

Mark your calendars now for the One Water 2024 Government and Regulatory Affairs workshop slated for Thursday, March 7 in Dublin at the Marriott Columbus Northwest. This joint effort of OAWWA and OWEA will feature regulatory updates and many hot topics relevant to both the wastewater and water industries. There’s plenty of networking time built into the event so plan now to attend. Registration and the full agenda will be available early 2024.
