Recently the NESOWEA hosted their Annual Student Design Competition. The purpose of this competition is to promote "real world" design experience for students interested in pursuing an education and/or career in water and environmental science and engineering. Teams competing included: Case Western Reserve, University of Akron, and Cleveland State University.
Due to the high quality of the presentations, two teams were designated as winners. McCallah Ferry, Anna Soehnlen, and Noor Fahoum of the University of Akron won the wastewater category. Jillian Bastock, Arianna Killing, and Molly Davis of Cleveland State University won the stormwater category.
University of Akron, which was the highest scoring team, will be headed to WEFTEC in New Orleans to compete nationally.
The student design competition is sponsored by Buckeye Pumps. You can learn more about the competition HERE.
