Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 17 for our virtual ethics workshop! This program will be from 9 – 11:30 am and will feature Desmond Cullimore of the Cullimore Law Firm and Susan Willeke of the Ohio Ethics Commission. This course will meet the ethics requirement for Ohio engineers and will also offer operators 2.5 contact hours. You can see the agenda and register HERE.

 

Ohio and OWEA were center stage during the recent WEFTEC! Our own Senator Sherrod Brown received the WEF Public Officials Award during the WEF Awards Ceremony. The Public Officials Award is presented to an elected or appointed public official that has made a documented, significant contribution in the areas of clean water legislation, public policy, government service, or another area of public prominence that resulted in improvements to the water environment. OWEA was proud to nominate Senator Brown and very excited he was chosen by WEF. 

Unfortunately, in 2020 we weren’t able to offer a Biosolids Workshop due to increasing COVID-19 cases. WE are BACK in 2021 and can’t wait to see you on Tuesday, December 7 at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio. The agenda for this great event will be posted soon, but you can still register and secure your spot for the last in person workshop of 2021 HERE.

We know some of you are ready to be together again and while no activity is without risk, we are doing everything possible to make OWEA workshops safe. We strongly encourage all attendees to our in-person workshops to be vaccinated and we will follow all local health/venue guidelines. We will continue to distance attendees from one another and will request attendees wear masks as appropriate.

 

Are you interested in bringing a new recycling or litter prevention program to your community? Maybe there is a current program you would like to see expanded. There are monies available from the Ohio EPA to make this happen! You can learn more regarding the 2022 grants during the Kick Off Webinar slated for Wednesday, November 3 at 10 am.
