Interested in Providing Information Regarding Wet Weather Discharge?

Wet weather discharges have been in the news lately and possible pending legislation was discussed by Division of Surface Water Chief Tiffany Kavalec at the recent One Water Conference. Are you interested in providing information concerning your facility and SSOs? Would you want to possibly help educate others concerning this issue? Please email Government Affairs Chair, Beth Toot-Levy and let her know your interest.

U.S. EPA Offers FREE Cybersecurity Assessment

Are you concerned about cybersecurity at your facility? With the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Horsley Witten Group (HWG) is offering free, confidential, cybersecurity assessments and technical assistance to interested water and wastewater utilities. The assessment consists of a questionnaire completed with HWG staff, and the technical assistance consists of developing a cyber action plan based on the results of your utility’s assessment focused on best practices to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a cyber incident. Adoption of these practices can reduce the likelihood that a cyber-attack will be successful and potentially enable your utility to recover from any cyber-attacks faster and at a lower cost. EPA and HWG are offering these assessments and technical assistance virtually, no on-site visit is required. You can find out more information HERE.

Give Now to Bring Safe and Reliable Water to Malawi

Please consider supporting one of this year’s One Water Conference charitable partners, Design Outreach (DO), whose aim is to alleviate global poverty through life-sustaining technology. DO engineers have developed reliable, long-lasting, easily repairable handpumps that are bringing clean and reliable water to the most vulnerable communities in the world. In fact, DO just celebrated half a billion LifePump+ rotations globally! Join the other members of OWEA and OAWWA who, together, are helping raise $15,000 to fund a LifePump+, COVID-19 supplies, handwashing and hygiene training for a community in Malawi.  Learn more and give here.
