The OWEA staff and Executive Committee would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. We are grateful for the support of our members and our sponsors. While we know 2020 has been full of more challenges than we could have imagined, we are thankful to have faced them together and that we all worked to continue to protect our most precious resource of water. In honor of the holidays, the OWEA office will be closed 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed HB 404 which will allow all professional operator certificates to remain valid until July 1, 2021.

The Ohio EPA is still strongly encouraging operators to renew on time, as HB 404 doesn’t change any other provisions in the operator certification rules.

Please note that this law doesn’t affect certificates that expire on December 31, 2021.

Traditionally our NE and SW sections hold some of their largest events November – February. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, some of those events can’t happen in person. Don’t worry though – we still have a great solution to get you the information and hours you need!

We will be having a virtual ON DEMAND Industrial Waste/Operations Workshop February 10-24, 2021. You will be able to access up to 6 contact hours whenever and wherever it works for you!
