As you know things are changing constantly due to the challenges Covid-19 has brought all of us. One thing that hasn’t changed is OWEA’s commitment to meet members where they are – SAFELY. We are moving forward with our upcoming Biosolids event, slated for Dec. 2. Biosolids is the last chance for you to obtain in person contact hours in 2020.

If a county where an in person event is scheduled to be held turns to purple, using Governor DeWine’s Public Health Advisory System, we will be canceling the event. As always, OWEA will be following all health department orders and minimizing risk with social distancing and masks. Some of our engineers might still need to meet their ethics requirement and some of our operators might still need hours. That’s why we are bringing our Ethics workshop to you virtually! This two hour workshop will meet the ethics requirement engineers are required to satisfy and also provide operators with contact hours. If you have both licenses, it’s a WIN-WIN. We know that many of our members are struggling as a result of COVID-19. We have worked to lessen the burden continuing education can place on a municipality by offering one free webinar a month to members since July. Often dealing with the paperwork that comes with professional education is half the battle. OWEA is here to help! Beginning in January 2021, OWEA will be having one hour long webinar a month at a cost of $15 to members. We will be offering a package option where you can pay for six months or the entire year of webinars all at once and get a discount! This will eliminate the paperwork for each one hour webinar.
