EPA Issues Guidance on Contact Hour Extension

Recently the Ohio EPA has issued guidance regarding requests for an extension of the contact hour requirement for renewal for Ohio Operators. While the Ohio EPA is strongly encouraging operators to complete their renewal on-time, a process has been developed for those who need an extension due to COVID-19. For operators who can demonstrate a legitimate reason COVID-19 has prevented them from submitting a renewal by the renewal deadline of November 30, 2020 OEPA will review requests for extension.  Information regarding this procedure will be a part of renewal information sent to operators who are due to renew in 2020 and is posted on the Ohio EPA website here.

Please remember that if you do need an extension it must be requested and is subject to approval.

Ohio WARN Has Masks Available

In May of 2020, Ohio WARN received a shipment of cloth masks from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that are available free of charge to water and wastewater facilities. The first push in providing these masks was successful.  Ohio WARN is now conducting a second round of cloth mask distribution.

Due to the limited number of masks available, distribution is to be allocated at a rate of FIVE (5) face masks per utility full-time employee (FTE) with a cap of 250 FTE. If you are interested in obtaining cloth face masks, OHWARN is asking that you fill out the request form here.

**This form is best viewed in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge**

Submit your request by clicking the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the request form.
