One Water Hits MILESTONE!

For the first time ever, we had more than 2,000 water and wastewater professionals attend our recent One Water Technical Conference and Expo at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio August 11-14. Attendees experienced great technical sessions and exciting networking opportunities along with one of the busiest Expo Halls One Water has seen. Mechanical bulls were ridden, and karaoke was sung. A huge thanks to our OWEA co-chairs, Kevin Aiken and Doug Dietzel who helped make everything possible.

Mark your calendars now for One Water 2026, slated for August 17-20, 2026 in Cincinnati. The One Water Sponsorship prospectus will be available in October.

WTA Basic Wastewater Licensure Course Offered in September

The Wastewater Training Academy is excited to offer a WTA Basic Wastewater course in each section beginning the week of September 22!

This Basic course will increase the knowledge base necessary to become skilled operators while also helping individuals prepare for the Wastewater I exam. It uses the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Fundamentals I & II textbooks, along with a customized OWEA supplement.

This course is the most up to date and student tested course to aid in licensure available in Ohio. Our previous Basic Wastewater course boosted a 75% pass rate (based on those who reported their testing status).

Those that successfully meet all attendance and testing requirements will receive 4.8 months of experience.

Registration ends Wednesday, September 10.
